Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Momint Bakery. By placing an order with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking or purchase.

Momint Bakery reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most recent version will always be available on our website.

1. Orders & Booking

  • All 1-tier cake orders must be placed at least 3 days in advance of your event date.

  • All 2-tier cake orders must be placed at least 7 days in advance.

  • Larger custom cakes (long cakes, three-tier cakes, wedding cakes, custom-sized cakes) should be placed at least 30 days in advance.

  • Tasting boxes must be ordered at least 5 days before the delivery or collection date.

An order is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
All orders are subject to availability and may be declined if the date is fully booked.

2. Payment

Payments can be made via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Banking details will be shared upon invoice.

  • All 1-tier cake orders must be paid for at least 3 days before the event date.

  • All 2-tier cake orders must be paid for at least 7 days before the event date.

  • Larger custom cakes (long cakes, three-tier cakes, wedding cakes, custom-sized cakes) require a 50% refundable deposit to secure the date. The full amount is due 30 days before the event date.

    • If the order is canceled more than 30 days before the event date, the deposit will be refunded in full.

    • If the order is canceled within 30 days of the event, a 50% refund will apply (as outlined in the Cancellation Policy).

  • Tasting box orders must be paid in full at least 5 days before the delivery or collection date.

Failure to make payment on time may result in cancellation of the order.
Your booking date is not secured until payment or a deposit is received.
Quotes are valid for 30 days.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 1-Tier Cakes: Cancellations made at least 3 days before the event date are eligible for a full refund.

  • 2-Tier Cakes: Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event date are eligible for a full refund.

  • Larger Custom Cakes (long cakes, three-tier cakes, wedding cakes, custom-sized cakes): Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund.

  • Tasting Boxes: Cancellations made more than 5 days before the scheduled delivery or collection date are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made after these timeframes are non-refundable.
Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days of cancellation confirmation.

In the unlikely event that I am unable to fulfill your order due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund.

4. Changes to Orders

  • Any design or flavour changes must be requested no later than 7 days before your delivery or pick-up date.

  • Changes are subject to approval and may affect the final price.

  • In the event that certain ingredients or decorations become unavailable, suitable alternatives of equal quality will be used.

  • Last-minute changes may not be possible, especially for custom decorations or specialty items.

  • Momint Bakery reserves the right to make adjustments to any cake design during the creation process if we feel this is necessary to achieve a cohesive and balanced design.

5. Delivery & Collection

  • Cakes can be collected from my home studio in Durbanville, Cape Town. Collection times will be arranged in advance.

  • Delivery is available at an additional cost, calculated based on your delivery address.

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive the delivery at the agreed time.

  • Momint Bakery is not responsible for any damage occurring during self-transport, including those resulting from improper handling, storage, or environmental conditions.

6. Design & Creative Control

While every effort is made to replicate design references provided by clients, each cake is unique and subject to creative interpretation.

Natural variations may occur in colour, floral arrangement, and overall finish — especially for handcrafted or seasonal elements.

Momint Bakery reserves the right to make design adjustments where necessary.

7. Allergies & Dietary Requirements

All cakes are produced in a kitchen that handles common allergens, including eggs, dairy, gluten, nuts, and soy. While every effort is made to minimize cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee any item to be completely allergen-free.

It is the client’s responsibility to inform Momint Bakery about any allergies or dietary requirements before the order is confirmed, and to inform their guests of any potential allergens.

8. Cake Storage & Serving

  • Cakes are best stored in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.

  • Buttercream cakes should be refrigerated but brought to room temperature 1–2 hours before serving for optimal flavour and texture.

  • During warm weather, cakes should be kept refrigerated until shortly before serving.

  • Once the cake has left my care, I am not responsible for how it is stored, transported, or served.

9. Photography & Social Media

Momint Bakery reserves the right to photograph your cake for portfolio use, social media, or marketing purposes.

If your event is under an embargo or you’d prefer to keep photos private until a specific date, please let me know in advance.

All images remain the property of Momint Bakery and may be used in marketing materials unless otherwise agreed.

10. Liability

Momint Bakery is not liable for any damage to the cake once it has been delivered or collected.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is disrespectful, abusive, or in violation of these terms.

Momint Bakery’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the order.

Momint Bakery will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to power outages, transport disruptions, or extreme weather conditions.

By confirming your order and making payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
